2010 Season at O'Briens Creek, Mt Surprise and Bowen, North Queensland

The Agate Creek turnoff at Forsyth... the start of 80-odd kms of bone-shaking, kombi-rattling, rough-as-guts dirt track. This was going to be a real mission!

On the road in there is some truly beautiful scenery to behold. I love the country out here... its awesome!

Arrived at the Agate Creek fossicking area... man, thats one rough road in but the kombi was up to it! :-)

Leaving Agate Creek.

Back home... there's my haul of agate and that was only in one day.

My treasures.

A monster aquamarine crystal found out at O'Briens Creek.
Some of the best coloured aqua I have seen comes from this area... look how dark it is!

Here's another pic of that big aqua in the sunlight.

Here are some pre-season pics. I'm back in Bowen for the "off-season" and I've setup base on a beach. The plan is to cut as many stones as I can but with such a beautiful setting its hard not to grab the fishing rod and try to catch that barra.

Evening on the beach.

My backyard.

Me taking my kombi for a drive... my friend thought the frangipani flower was a good look.

See... I do do some work.

Some treasures from the sea.

Another shot of my backyard.
