This material is very bright and clean and cuts a stunning gemstone. The design is one of my own and is based on the traditional "princess" cut and has trimmed corners to enable easier setting. This is a good size for a pendant. The colour is quite soft even for Rose de France.

It is a very effective design and shows off the lovely soft colours of Rose de France amethyst. It is a good size for a pendant or a large ring. There are some inclusions in this gem but nothing that detracts from the overall appearance of the stone. A very nice and bright gem.

The colour is quite pale in this stone, even for rose de france. It is however a nice bright and flashy stone and the design is a very pleasing brilliant cushion. I have smoothed, rounded and polished the girdle rather then leaving it faceted. Quite a fine gemstone.

I cut this gem in one of my favorite round designs to see how it looks in the antique style. It is a beautiful gem and would make a fabulous ring stone.

This gem has a wonderful clarity about it and to use an old term, has a "fine water". It is sharply cut and polished and would make a fine addition to anyone's collection.

It is cut in my favorite pear design, the Utopia Pear. This is a very elegant design and its lines and profile remind me of a yacht. This is a beautiful example of this material with its lovely soft colour. A fine gemstone.

It is suitable for any jewelry setting but due to its size I'd say it was more of a collectors stone. However, I think it would make a very interesting pendant if it was set in some sort of "bird cage". There is a very small feather veil inclusion near the crown. This stone has a beautiful, watery transparency which is common to this pale type of amethyst. The gem is very brilliant and is like an amazing swirl of light.
