What I want to do on this page is highlight some of the select rough stone that I have.
Stone : Aquamarine Item : #r104 Origin : Pakistan Weight : 42.1 ct Clarity : Slightly Included Comments : A monster aquamarine from Pakistan! I expect it to cut a very very slightly included stone... it has a very small fine black needle (black tourmaline?) and some inclusions that are common to aquamarine. Ideally a rectangular design, most probably a traditional emerald cut or perhaps a Smith Bar would suit this stone. This is a pendant stone. THIS PIECE OF ROUGH HAS BEEN CUT... HERE
Stone : Aquamarine Item : #r105 Origin : Pakistan Weight : 25.5 ct Clarity : Very Slightly Included Comments : A lovely big aquamarine from Pakistan. I expect it to cut an eye clean stone. I think this one I would cut into two and make a great pair of matching earring stones. This would go well with the large aqua (#r104) above. THIS PIECE OF ROUGH HAS BEEN CUT... HERE
Stone : Aquamarine Item : #r106 Origin : Pakistan Weight : 20.6 ct Clarity : Very Slightly Included Comments : Another lovely big aquamarine from Pakistan. I expect it to cut an eye clean stone. I think this one is a great ring stone and would perfectly match the large aqua #r104 and #r105 above. These stones would make a fabulous matching suite of stones... a large pendant, earrings and a ring. They all match in colour and size... you hardly ever find a matched suite of aquas! THIS PIECE OF ROUGH HAS BEEN CUT... HERE
Stone : Lapis Lazuli Item : #r107 Origin : Afghanistan Weight : Large Clarity : N/A Comments : Lapis lazuli is probably in my top 3 favourite stones of all time. I just love the colour! This is some top material from Afghanistan which produces the best in the world. I have some ideas for this material so stay tuned. Stone : Lapis Lazuli Item : #r108 Origin : Afghanistan Weight : Large Clarity : N/A Comments : Lapis lazuli is probably in my top 3 favourite stones of all time. I just love the colour! You can see why lapis was so desired and used to make the special ultramarine pigment that the old masters used in oil paintings. This is some top material from Afghanistan which produces the best in the world. I have some ideas for this material so stay tuned. These pieces here are medium sized. This particular material is very fine grained and is premium quality!

Stone : Amethyst Item : #r110 Origin : Uruguay, Brazil, Africa Weight : Various from 5ct to 100ct+ Clarity : Eye Clean to Very Slightly Included Comments : I have a wide range of amethyst from Uruguay, Brazil and Africa ranging from dark to light. All of this material is top quality and in a range of sizes. Shown is only a tiny, tiny selection of the material in stock.
Stone : Amethyst var Rose de France Item : #r111 Origin : Brazil Weight : Various from 5ct to 100ct+ Clarity : Eye Clean to Very Slightly Included Comments : I have some top Amethyst var Rose de France from Brazil. The material I have is generally quite large and so will cut anything from small stones up to as big as you want them. It looks very much like pink kunzite.
Stone : Citrine Item : #r112 Origin : Uruguay, Brazil Weight : Various from 5ct to 100ct+ Clarity : Eye Clean to Very Slightly Included Comments : I have some top Citrine from Uruguay and Brazil in a wide range of colours, from the devine dark "madeira" through to light lemon yellows and everything in between. This is all top quality material.
Stone : Black Spinel Item : #r113 Origin : Rubyvale, Central Queensland, Australia Weight : 15ct+ Clarity : Opaque Comments : This is something that you don't see everyday. Black spinel is true spinel but is not transparent, rather it is opaque and when cut is absolutely fantastic if you are into black gemstones, like onyx and jet. It gets it black colouring from the iron content and is very hard, being 8 on the moh scale. This material is great for a men's ring... or at least I think so.
Stone : Carnelian Item : #r114 Origin : Brazil Weight : Large Clarity : Translucent Comments : Top carnelian is hard to come by and this is top material, being a rich uniform colour. I have some ideas for this material so stay tuned.
Stone : Lavender Blue Chalcedony Item : #r115 Origin : Namibia Weight : Large Clarity : Translucent Comments : Anyone for some gorgeous Lavender Blue Chalcedony? This is great, lovely material. I have some ideas for this material so stay tuned. I have many, many ideas... all I need is time! :-)
Stone : Chrysoprase Item : #r116 Origin : Marlbrough, Queensland, Australia Weight : Large Clarity : Translucent Comments : Marlbrough in Queensland produces some of the best chrysoprase in the world but be quick as this material is about to become much more scarce as a large mining company has taken over the lease on this area and is going to pound it all to dust so that it can get the nickel!!!! Stone : Turquoise Item : #r117 Origin : China Weight : Large Clarity : N/A Comments : This is excellent turquoise from China. It has been stabilised and comes up looking fantastic. It comes in several varieties, from a uniform colour to a sort of "marbled" appearance.
Stone : Turquoise Item : #r118 Origin : Kingman Mine, Arizona, USA Weight : Large Clarity : N/A Comments : This is the classic all time favourite turquoise from the famous Kingman Mine in Arizona. It is natural and untreated, being naturally hard it doesn't require stabilizing. This is beautiful material!
Stone : Clear and Natural Blue Topaz Item : #r119 Origin : O'Briens Creek, Mt Surprise, North Queensland, Australia Weight : 5ct to 100ct+ Clarity : Eye Clean to Very Slightly Included Comments : O'Briens Creek topaz is absolutely beautiful stone and is one of my favourites to cut. The natural blues are simply devine and in my opinion have a soft, subtle, femine tone that is delightful and very pleasing. It is available in small to very large sizes.
Stone : Umbalite Garnet Item : #r120 Origin : Umba Valley, Tanzania Weight : 17.6 ct Clarity : Eye Clean Comments : This is the real deal! Umbalite garnet is called the "King of Rhodolite" because of it's fantastic colour. It is scarce and only comes from one place and that is the Umba Valley, hence the name. This particular piece would probably suit a marquise or pear style design.
Stone : Peridot Item : #r121 Origin : Pakistan Weight : 5ct to 20ct+ Clarity : Eye Clean to Very Slightly Included Comments : Pakistani peridot is one of the most sought after peridots due to its lovely apple green tones. Alot of peridot has strong olive overtones but the Pakistani material seems to have less of this. This material looks great when cut.
Stone : Honey Zircon Item : #r122 Origin : Africa Weight : 26.8ct Clarity : Eye Clean Comments : Large clear honey coloured zircons are scarce. This is a nicely shaped stone and would probably suit a pear or my "Acorn" design.
Stone : Golden Beryl Item : #r123 Origin : Africa Weight : 15ct+ Clarity : Eye Clean Comments : Golden beryl is also known as "Heliodor" after the God of Sun, "Helios". This is lovely material and will cut a brilliant stone!
